MAGICAL ITEM
Appearance
PB: Lexie Liu
Mask:
  • Oversized clothes, often patched up DIY style.
  • Leather jackets, lots of black and often genderless clothing to compensate for her fragile, feminine, doll-like appearance.
  • Refuses to wear frilly, lacey things and is sick of all things "pretty & cute"
  • No make-up usually, but enjoys having nice long nails
  • Grew out her bangs to look older.
Mien:
Perry looks like a porcelain doll, with elongated limbs and proportions. Her skin is covered in parts with painted floral designs.

Her skin looks like porcelain, which is cold to the touch but retains the elasticity of skin. Her joints act like a doll's, so don't freak out if her arm and legs just casually bend backwards like a horror show. Apart from that, she almost looks human if you squint from afar.

Ceramic nerd deli says:
  • Perry's skin is made of porcelain and looks as though she has been glazed with clear gloss that will catch the light the same way ceramic pottery would
  • Any rise in color appears like an underglaze, that disperses like a drop of watercolor on a wet sheet of paper
  • The painted marks on her skin are overglazes that sit "suspended" over the clear glaze in a ultramarine cobalt blue
Personality
+ Happy go lucky
+ Loyal
+ Persistent
+ Optimistic
+ Swag
- Self-destructive
- Eager to please
- Childish
- Naive
- Flighty

On the surface, Perry can seem quite unaffected by her time in Faerie. Compared to some of the more unfortunate Changelings, her durance wasn't even that horrific or scarring but Prima's control over her life has left some subtle marks on her that pop up occasionally like fleas:

  • Claustrophobic due to being kept indoors as house decor for so long
  • Likes wide open spaces and getting lost amid the crowd
  • Still has a habit of not moving and staring off into space
For the most part, Perry came out unscathed apart from those rather annoying issues. She doesn't have quite a firm grasp on who she is exactly, having no memory of her life before Prima beyond some random bits and pieces that don't really make sense or help her figure out who she once was. There are some memories from earlier years that could even be from some of Prima's scripts. It is hard to tell.

She can come off childish and immature, being somehow both younger and older than she looks. Prima did not care about formal education and Perry mostly grew up and learned what she could through osmosis from those around her. It has resulted in some very unusual world views and beliefs (cannibalism is not a normal thing?) that she has been trying to understand and correct since returning to the human world.

History
PREQUEL (pre-2016)

Perry was six years old when a birthday party at the park became her last known location in the 'real world'. The little girl, clothed in a pretty blue dress, had wandered off in a brief moment of carelessness with her [friend], lured away by tinkling music of an elaborately decorated carousel.

She doesn't remember how long she was on the white unicorn, but when she woke up, she was in a castle, far far away from everything she knew.

DURANCE (2016-2019)

Although Perry still has snippets and flashes of memories from her life before Prima, most of those memories feel more like a dream. She spent her childhood in her Keeper's "care", listening and following everything she said. There wasn't much choice in the matter and compared to some of her fellow Changelings, Perry knew that she had it easy.

She had arrived in Arcadie looking like a princess in her frilly glittery dress, and that was what Prima saw. Perry didn't speak at first, using the silent treatment as a protest. Not really caring enough to coax her name out of her but miffed nonetheless, Prima took her voice away and named her after the color of her dress and remade her into a living porcelain doll.

For the first few months, Perry was kept as an ornament, left around Prima's palace wherever she wanted, dressed and dolled up in whatever new style she deemed fashionable. Eventually, she was written into Prima's plays, and became quite the favorite. She began to spend more and more time in rehearsals and practices, and was severely punished whenever Prima deemed her performance subpar or uninspired.

What could count as "education" was really Prima's shamelessly self-insert scripts.

Eventually Perry outgrew the "role" that Prima wanted her to be. There were new fresh faces to inspire her now, and Perry was abandoned to fend for herself in lieu of fresh meat.

FREEDOM (post-2019)

Perry had a very uneventful journey out of Faerie, which she attributes to a wish she made upon a falling star.

At first, Perry wanted to leave the Freehold but she soon realized that she had nowhere to go. She barely remembered her life prior to Prima, and there wasn't an easy way to figure out how to transition back into her old life, especially when she was only supposed to be twelve years old. So she stuck around, and shortened her name to Perry until she could figure it out. Turns out that was harder than she imagined, since she had never actually had an education beyond preschool. While she could read (Prima needed her to read her scripts after all), most of what she knew came from Prima's scripts or word-of-mouth from other Changelings and the Fae.

Learning about this world and how to be an adult became her priority. She was unqualified for most jobs, but cleaning was easy, and she didn't mind getting dirty since everything washed off her porcelain skin unblemished. Perry liked the water and no one else seemed to want to be near the gator-infested pond (except Ren but that was another story).

That was two years ago.

Since then Perry has avoided participating in anything remotely similar to her durance in any way, so no dancing or acting. No tea parties and soirees (ok maybe a couple parties once in awhile), mostly sticking to the pond and her plan of figuring out who she was. Everyone seemed to be much older than she is, and much much smarter. Or so it seems, Perry isn't quite sure.

While Perry hasn't shown any interest in joining any organisations or court ambitions, she can be found perusing the Goblin Market and Winter Market, stopping at almost every stall to look at the shinies. Since she has been in the Freehold, she has also been selling and trading random bits and pieces that she has made throughout the year at the Winter Market. Nothing fancy or magical, just pretty little trinkets like embroidered hoops, stuffed animals, paper flowers and more. She doesn't really do it for the money, but she ends up with a lot of "junk" because of her therapeutic art & crafts blessing.
